The Master of Science (M.S.) in Animal Science offers specialization in:
- Animal Nutrition
- Reproductive Biology
- Animal Products Technology
- The newly opened meat technology building is well equipped to process meat animals and develop value-added products.
- The existing dairy technology building, completed in 1985, is equipped to process dairy products into nutritious value-added products.
- Animal housing facilities are equipped with computerized facilitates for data collection and advanced analyses.
- Eight laboratories are equipped with the latest scientific instruments to advance physiology, nutrition, and intermediary metabolism research.
- Small ruminants, equine, and beef cattle are available for hands-on experience and graduate research activities.
Students who have completed a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences degree with a GPA of 2.7 or better (on a 4.0 scale) will be admitted to the program.
Students whose native language is not English will be required to fulfill regular admissions requirements and score at least 500 on TOEFL.
Students will be required to take 37 credit hours of graduate level courses including 6 credit hours of thesis research. The program may be completed in 5 semesters (at most) by full time students.
