Dr. James E. Brown, professor of horticulture and interim assistant dean for academic programs for Fort Valley State University's College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology, recently conducted a workshop as part of the Sustainable Methods in Small-Scale Production of Food Crops In-Service Training seminar. Approximately 30 individuals in attendance listened to representatives from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), FVSU Extension, University of Georgia Extension and the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Lecture topics included farm loans, organic crops and animal production. Brown, who coordinated the event said the purpose of the training is to provide information to county agents so they can provide clients with proper information.
