Middle and high school students in Georgia seeking financial guidance are invited to attend a free virtual conference sponsored by Fort Valley State University’s Cooperative Extension 4-H program July 9.

They will also learn money habits and how to avoid mistakes that lead to financial troubles later in life.

“By attending this conference, attendees at an early age will benefit by learning basic information on budgeting, how to save money and maintaining savings and checking accounts,” Petway said.

DeeAnn Dent, financial education coordinator at Robins Financial Credit Union, is the presenter for the teleconference.

Topics for discussion include common money beliefs, saving and budgeting basics and choosing a financial institution. Pre-registered participants will be eligible for a door prize raffle that includes $20 VISA gift cards.
