GA-FITS (Georgia Farmer's Initiative for Training & Sustainability) presents: Controlling Your Legacy, Estate Planning: To "Trusts" or Not to Trust. Featuring John Donsbach, Donsbach Law Group, LLC.

A ZOOM workshop about trusts will be co-hosted by Fort Valley State and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Programs on March 20.

Fort Valley State University (FVSU) and the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Cooperative Extension Programs will collaborate on a virtual ZOOM workshop focusing on trusts and estate planning. The free workshop is a part of the Georgia Farmer’s Initiative for Training and Sustainability (GA-FITS).

The workshop, “To ‘Trusts’ or Not to Trust,” is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, from noon-1:30 p.m. To participate in the workshop, people are encouraged to pre-register online by Friday, March 15 at bit.ly/gafits-reg-20240320. This is one in a series of estate planning workshops presented by GA-FITS.

John Donsbach, an attorney at Donsbach Law Group LLC, is the featured speaker. Some of the topics for discussion include Trusts: What are they? Do I need a trust? and How to identify different types of trusts.

“The purpose of this seminar is to educate participants about trusts and help them gain knowledge on estate planning,” said Millicent Price, FVSU family and consumer sciences (FACS) Extension agent for Crawford County.

Furthermore, Price said people should register for the virtual workshop to gain more information on trusts. “Hopefully, some of the participants from our previous workshops about wills and estate planning will register so they can inform themselves about trusts,” Price said.

Other workshop facilitators include Ida Jackson, UGA FACS agent for Wilkes County and Brenda Salter, FVSU FACS agent for Marion County.
