Plant Science
Overview
The plant science major is designed to develop the knowledge and skill needed to address the growing challenge of supplying humanity with abundant, high-quality food, fiber and specialty crops in a sustainable and environmentally sensitive way.
Plant science is the study of the life cycle of plants and plant species, including reproduction, growth and adaption to diverse environments. Plant scientists are extremely interested in ecology and the environment and work in labs, fields, forests and many other locations.
Degree Offered
Bachelor of Science in agriculture with a major in plant science. Students may select from three concentrations:
- Biotechnology
- Environmental Soil Science
- Horticulture
Graduates students in biotechnology work toward a Master of Science degree.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the university high school students must have a GPA of 2.25 as well as an SAT score of 430 on Critical Thinking/Verbal and 400 on Math or an ACT score of 17 on English and 17 on Math.
