Vet Tech & Public Health
FVSU has the only AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) accredited four-year Veterinary Technology program in Georgia. The Veterinary Technology major helps students become highly knowledgeable in laboratory and clinical procedures, care and handling of animals, basic principles of normal and abnormal life processes, and how to become an integral member of the veterinary healthcare team.
The Public Health program offers a course of study through two concentrations: Environmental Health and Epidemiology. Students are prepared to identify problems and propose solutions to a variety of environmental conditions that affect the health of minority, rural, and disadvantaged populations at disproportionate rates. The program is fully accredited program through the Environmental Health Accreditation Council (EHAC).
