Mobile Health Unit
Through a new Mobile Health Unit, FVSU’s Cooperative Extension aims to promote wellness and drive positive change. This rolling facility serves as a classroom and laboratory for improving healthy living practices such as nutrition, meal preparation and health screenings in underserved communities. When expanded, the 53-foot-long trailer converts into a 40-foot-wide three-room facility.
This mobile facility is equipped with:
- Kitchen space, appliances and equipment
- Refrigerators
- Wireless Internet
- Video screens
- Computer terminals
- Meeting space that can hold up to 20 people
Services provided:
- Cooking demonstrations
- Health and nutrition classes
- Immunizations and blood pressure checks
